What is an EMPIRE
An empire is a civilization with a government that rules over many types of people and has a goal to add more territory or cultures.
Some famous real and fictional Empires:
There were Japanese Empires, and Chinese Empires.
There was a British Empire
There were Roman and Byzantium Empires
There was a Persian Empire
In Fiction the most famous Empire is the one that struck back in Star Wars. It was just called THE EMPIRE. It was led by the Emperor, and his most famous lieutenant was Darth Vader.

Comparing Civilizations
Ancient Artifacts from the past give insight into the civilizations that grew, flourished and fell.
We will be looking at the civilizations of Imperial China, the Roman Empire, a selection of African Empires, the Gupta Empire, and American Empire (Meso-America).
